Covid-19

I tell stories in pictures. This work is intimate and fun and quirky. It requires time and trust and sharing space. For now, I am keeping the studio closed and am not taking on assignments.

Please take photos. The world inside your homes might be radically different. It’s a unique movement in time. Among all the stress and worry and home school frustration there are beautiful and quirky moments that will emerge. Your kiddos are still children who will continue to grow, explore, and experience milestones (good and bad). Be gentle with yourselves. Embrace (safely) the time you have with your family…the good, the bad, the ugly. This is an image from my grad days at The Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. At one point during this project I was snowed in with this wonderful family. (This kiddo is now a college student!!) A snow storm is so not the same as what we are experiencing today but when you’re stuck in one place together you get to see the intimate, guard-let-down moments. So many people are home with their families and families of choice. We’re all on a roller coaster of emotions. In this difficult time of social distancing people are finding ways to connect. Document your days. When we can come together again, I will be at the ready to tell your stories, but for now (and everyday) please take photos.
