A new batch of Signature Storybooks has just arrived at the studio and I am loving them! I tell stories in pictures. Our Signature Storybooks are the perfect match. There are lots of wonderful options ranging from custom photo covers to fine fabrics and leathers. You can select beautiful matte or lovely watercolor paper for the pages. Each book is custom designed with care to tell a specific story. What a wonderful way to preserve your family’s stories! These are wonderful modern heirlooms.
The new line of Signature Storybooks by Elizabeth Massa Photography is the perfect way to preserve your memories and tell the stories of your family. Summer is a wonderful time to schedule a Signature Storybook session. What story will you tell first? An afternoon at home… A peak at daily life… A trip to the park or the beach…A special visit from family or friends…Maybe a birthday celebration… Waiting for the newest addition to your family (You can see one of our favorite family’s storybook here). There are so many possibilities! I hope you enjoy the new line.
I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with this wonderful family in their Princeton home. Newborn sessions are so much fun. Completely relaxed. Lots of time for toddler transitions and snacks. Plenty of time to be on “baby-time”. With no need to pack or transport the kids on a cold Princeton day, we photographed the whole session in their bedroom. It was the perfect spot… great light and super comfy. Vanessa and Dan are super fun parents to the very nifty Vivian and new baby Jonas. I have a feeling this little guy is going to have great adventures with his big sister.
I love photographing Signature Storybook Sessions. It’s an honor to photograph in someone’s home.
For many families the idea of family pictures is daunting. Somewhere along the line a horrible ideas spread…. If you’ve ever had a stressful portrait session you know them. Everyone has to look perfect, be dressed in identical outfits and be still and happy and the photographer will most likely be shouting to smile. When I opened my studio, I set out to break that mold. Our Signature Storybook sessions are designed to capture images that are relaxed, natural, authentic and narrative. I encourage my clients to be themselves. Often my clients choose to have their session in their own homes. It’s a wonderful opportunity to document daily life, the objects that create your environment and the space you call home.
The beauty of a Signature Storybook Session is that life doesn’t have to stop for photos. Quite the opposite! The family I’m sharing today is so much fun! It’s a house of smart quirky folks who know how to enjoy little things. Little A was just about to celebrate his first birthday when we photographed at the house. As you will see, he is going to be a voracious reader and has a big personality. Kate is a great cook. Dinner is an event when you have a curious almost-toddler. There’s this wonderful dance of kid + cooking that happens. This family does it well and this little guy might just be the next James Beard! Take a peak at the image of Gary and his son at the piano. It was a moment of kid-distraction while Kate was finishing dinner. So perfect. So relaxed. So very them.
Those simple interactions are the stuff of great memories.
There are so many possibilities for Signature Storybook Sessions. Here are just a few ideas… A visit from a favorite relative. A newborn session. Tubby time when you are small enough that your bath tub is the kitchen sink. Pancakes! A day when everyone is home at the same time! Go on a picnic and play on the swings. Play in the back yard. Go apple picking. Family dinner. Making a special family recipe. An anniversary session… grown ups deserve great photos too! Go on an ice cream adventure with Grandpa. What fun idea will you come up with for your Signature Storybook Session?
While we love mittens and building snow men, it has been a long, cold winter here in Princeton. Pictures in the park on crisp Fall days, munchkins playing among Spring flowers and building sand castles on beach on hot Summer days all seem so far away. But we are not about to let winter stop the fun! There’s so much going on and so many wonderful opportunities for fun fabulous photo sessions. Wintery days can be great for our Signature Storybook Sessions at home. There are great magical things happening in homes all over town. Blanket forts and Lego cities are being built. Marathon PlayDough sessions are happening. Folks are cuddling up with blankets and a good book. Spontaneous cabin fever induced snow ball fights are breaking out in the back yard. There are folks braving a walk to the park as the landscape begins to thaw and hints of sidewalk can be seen. Cookies are being baked and big pots of soup are being made for family dinner. After all a cold wintery day is a great excuse to break out the marshmallows for the perfect cup of hot chocolate after playing dress up… especially if you are a polar bear!
